One night, while he was having fun in San Francisco, Barclay Crenshaw started to invent names for European DJs, and finally enough, one of his best ideas ended up becoming his own stage name. Today, the name (false or otherwise) of Claude VonStroke has featured on the posters of respected clubs on both sides of the Atlantic, and is synonymous with the best in dance music. A first-class remixer (he has reworked The Rapture and Kevin Saunderson, among others) and a specialist on the decks, in each of his sessions Claude highlights a whole range of cultural benchmarks that usually stress the many facets of the musical past and present of his hometown of Detroit.
