Of all the thousand and one faces of Patrick Pulsinger (the man behind Cheap in the nineties, Louie Austen's eminence gris, and a producer in demand by characters of the standing of DJ Hell, Pet Shop Boys, Justice and Grace Jones) dp-S is the one that has recently been keeping him busy. This joint project with Werner Dafeldecker (a regular on labels like Morr Music, Kranky and Staubgold) explores the possibilities of analogue sound, using a curious circuit which connects a double bass to a modular synthesizer. The resulting sound is an unprecedented blend of woodwind, strings and analogue bubbles. Seeing is believing.
