A Puerto Rican (Mónica Rodríguez) and a German (Stephen Yonkin) in a Brooklyn studio: those are the basic co-ordinates of Zigmat, a duo that burst into the international arena in 2009 with the surprising “Sounds of Machines"; a pop album which uses electronica as much as rock, despite its title. With the spirit of a chameleon, but with pop firmly on their minds, Zigmat are following the trail blazed by Massive Attack and Goldfrapp, but have added new ingredients to that magic formula, such as the charisma of Mónica Rodríguez and songs in English and in Spanish.
