From Maradona to the paranormal and dreamscapes to taxidermy, the graphic image of Sonar has become, year after year, one of the most anticipated and controversial aspects of the festival.
Far from the clichés traditionally used to introduce electronic culture, Sonar's image seeks surprise, singularity and a distinct sense of humour, not devoid of controversy, that has become the brand and icon of the festival.

Sonar's graphic image took on a paranormal air when it featured two pairs of twins with very special powers. One pair had powers of telekinesis and levitation. And the other pair was able to breathe underground, and their images led to strong reactions from some feminist associations, which paradoxically increased the popularity of the festival's campaign.
