The piece invites the user to produce an assisted self-portrait, in which in reality the human artist has very little control over the result, which is completely guided by the movements of the system. We are today in a situation in which almost everything around us has been created by machines. Within this human/machine spiral, we create individual entities represented by the products this relationship, making it even closer. How do we determine our place in this context and the consequences of perpetuating it?
Jen hui Liao was born in 1982 in Taiwan. He graduated from the Royal college of Art in London in 2009. He works on the connections of humankind and machine. By creating experimental objects to represent the relationship between men and man-made machinery, he investigates the machine like complex of the human mind.
